This project introduces new perspectives about Bangkok by people from Isan, the Northeast of Thailand. Isan culture is regularly interpreted by the media and urban-born, thus rendering information about Isan as viewed from outside. The strategy of this project was to give each interviewee one film camera and ask them to capture their daily life in Bangkok.
The book explores their raw perspectives of Bangkok, from their own eyes, in the interviews as well as images. Each person expresses their individual perspective, and encourages us to look closely, gaining a fresh insight into the lives of Isan Bangkokians.
